Frequently Asked Questions

Q.  It says the item I want is on Back-Order.  What does that mean?

A.  That means this is a product I've stocked before, but I've currently run out, More stock is on order from the supplier. My shipments usually arrive within 2-6 weeks, but if you'd like to check just send me an email and I'll look into it for you.

Q.  It says the item I want is on Pre-Order.  What does that mean?

A.  Pre-Order items are items I haven't stocked before, but have ordered from the supplier. There may be some variation in colour or size when I actually receive the product, but if there is I'll contact you and let you know.

Q.  You have an item I want but not in my size.  Can you order it for me?

A.  Yes, absolutely!  Because I'm running this business out of my home, I don't always order stock of every size, particularly when it comes to things like waist trainers and clothing.  Send me an email with the item you want and the size you're after, and I'll check whether it's available at the supplier and for what price.  A lot of the items I buy I get on special so that I can offer them to you at a discount, so it may cost more to get an item in that I don't currently have.

 Q.  My order hasn't arrived yet!  What can I do?

A.  Contact me and I'll check! Our deliveries within New Zealand are all sent by CourierPost, so they usually arrive within 2-3 business days at the most.

Q.  Is my payment information safe?

A.  Absolutely! My payments are processed through Shopify Payments, one of the most secure checkout servers in the world, unless you choose to use one of the other secure gateways I have available. I never even see your personal information - except your shipping address, of course!  I need that!  :)

Q. The product I want says it's dropshipped. What does that mean?

A. There are three kinds of stores that are common these days: manufacturers, retailers, and dropshippers. The main differences are as follows:

Manufacturers make their own products and ship them directly to the customer.
Retailers buy goods from other people and hold the stock in their warehouse. When the customer makes a purchase, the retailer ships the goods directly to their customer.
Dropshippers do not hold stock on site. They liaise between a manufacturer or wholesale distributor and the customer. When a customer places an order with a dropshipper, the dropshipper orders the product from the manufacturer and has it shipped directly to the customers. Dropshippers are frequently able to offer very low prices because they don't have to pay as many overheads as a retailer

Cheeky Kea Swagworks is a hybrid. Most of our products are kept in stock and shipped from our warehouse (aka my back bedroom), but for some products we dropship from the manufacturer instead. The reason we do this is to keep our overheads down on products that have a lot of sizes and colours or have a high base cost, like our waist trainers.  Dropshipping allows us to sell more products to you without it cutting into our ability to engage in our charitable purpose.

There is one key difference between our model and the average dropshipper, though. Most dropshippers sell goods blind, meaning that they never see the product or check it's quality before they send it out. We're too fussy for that. We only dropship products that we have ordered in the past and have thoroughly checked the quality of, and we only dropship from manufacturers that we know and trust.  As such, we are happy to offer our personal guarantee on any goods that we sell. We are all about quality at a good price, after all!

    Q. Is CK Swagworks a sustainable business?

    A. To the absolute best of our abilities, yes. Cheeky Kea and its subsidiaries are run by a group of people who are mutually concerned about the long-term security of our beautiful planet, and as such we do everything we reasonably can to make our businesses as sustainable and eco-friendly as possible. This includes but is not limited to:

    * All packaging material that we purchase is biodegradable and/or compostable.

    * Any non-biodegradable packaging we use (such as bubble wrap) is reused.  We keep every scrap of bubble wrap that we receive from shipments coming in and reuse it.

    * Any excess plastics we receive on incoming shipments are recycled wherever possible.

    * We choose products that are produced through sustainable, eco-friendly methods. For example, our folding shopping bags are made from recycled plastics.

We are still small and growing so there are some things that we haven't yet managed to fully replace with sustainable alternatives yet, but being "green" is a huge concern for us and we will endeavour to do the best we can both now and in the future.
